Siena Barnes X Hysteric Glamour

Siena Barnes’ collaboration with the iconic Japanese fashion label Hysteric Glamour began in 2019, following her solo exhibition Original Paint. The exhibition caught the attention of founder Nobuhiko Kitamura, who acquired multiple works for display across Hysteric stores in Japan.

Later that year, Barnes’ drawings were translated into a capsule collection for AW19, introducing her visual language to Hysteric’s global audience.

In 2020, Barnes was commissioned to create a series of in-store posters. While the pandemic altered those plans, one drawing, ‘Hysteric Rock’, became a standout image for the brand.

Since then, ‘Hysteric Rock’ has appeared across multiple collections, including a 2022 ringer T-shirt, a nine-piece AW22 range spanning shirts, jumpsuits, and knitwear, and further releases in AW25.

In 2021, Barnes exhibited at Hysteric Glamour’s Tokyo flagship alongside Japanese artist Wataru Komachi. The pair created a limited series of customised Hysteric garments, from T-shirts to leather jackets, which sold out and later toured Japan.

The collaboration remains ongoing, with new conversations around future works in development.
