Shock Pop UK artist Siena Barnes versus iconic Japanese fashion brand Hysteric Glamour.
Siena has collaborated on four garments with the fashion house, all of which feature her large-scale Indian ink drawings that distil, deconstruct and delight in the prosaic issues of the day from politics to porn via Prozac.
The next drop includes the infamous Let’s Make America t-shirt. Riffing on a fragment of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, the tee is a meditation on soft-core pornography and the end of Western civilisation. And it’s pure cotton.
Who needs art galleries when you can have a private view on a t-shirt? The unisex Let’s Make America tee collages four of Siena’s drawings and will, fingers crossed, shift as many units as the ground level hipster Pop More Happy Pills shirt, which is no longer available from a boutique near you.
