Haworth popular artist Siena Barnes in northern debut
A figurative artist has debuted her work in the north of England for the first time.
Haworth-based Siena Barnes, whose art has been exhibited in Asia, Europe, and the United States, showcased seven pieces during a one-day pop-up event at Harrogate’s RedHouse Gallery on Saturday.
The event featured works by 12 Yorkshire-based artists, including paintings, sketches, sculptures, and photographic works.
Siena said: “It’s fantastic to be part of such an eclectic mixture of artists covering so many different subjects using a range of mediums.”
Her art, described as “a love letter to women written in ink,” explores feminism and the women’s liberation movement.
Richard McTague, gallery owner, said: “We are excited to provide a platform for Siena’s northern debut, giving her work exposure among art lovers and collectors from across the region and beyond.”
RedHouse Gallery, which over 16 years has become firmly established as a leading hothouse for emerging creative talent.
